Does Olive Oil Expire?
Olive oil does not have an expiry date in the strict sense, but rather a best-before date, meaning a period during which its organoleptic properties remain unchanged.
This period is not very long: it is preferable to consume olive oil within 18 months of bottling or packaging, although using it beyond this period would not in itself be harmful to health.
Therefore, if olive oil is stored properly, it will retain its properties for longer and can also be consumed after the recommended 18-month period.
