How to Store Olive Oil
As you may have heard many times, olive oil has three main enemies: air, light and heat. To preserve its characteristics for as long as possible, olive oil should therefore be stored in a cool, dry place, preferably at a temperature between 12 and 18°C, away from heat sources and with its container (bottle, tin, etc.) always tightly closed.
If you have to choose between storing your olive oil in a traditional tin or in a more convenient bottle, it is always better to choose the bottle, provided that it is made of dark glass so that the oil is protected from light.
One of the questions our customers ask most frequently is whether olive oil purchased in a tin should be transferred into a bottle. The answer is YES. As mentioned above, dark glass is the best container for storing olive oil, provided that the bottle has a resealable cap to prevent air from triggering oxidation processes.
In conclusion, by following these simple rules and storing it correctly, you will preserve the nutritional properties of your olive oil for longer.
